Old Aerial Photos of the UK
For over a decade Skyscan has offered a service to search out and supply historic air photos of the UK to clients involved with
planning matters | boundary and legal disputes |
environmental investigations | local historical research |
In that time we have built up a comprehensive database of aerial photographers and archives operating in the UK with whom we work closely.
Skyscan's Photolibrary consists of over 400,000 aerial images of the UK from the 1950's to date and includes two important aerial archives
recently acquired namely the London Aerial Archive and the Chorley Handford /
Realistic Collection. Up to date imagery of the UK is constantly received from our photographers and complements the archive material
so that photographs covering a range of dates from the 1940's to modern times can usually be found for a particular location.
Our in-house photolibrary is searched at no charge. If no suitable imagery is held in house we offer an Aerial
IMage Search service to search our database and identify those photographers and archives most likely to hold suitable imagery. Their survey
records are then checked and the client receives a report as to what aerial imagery is available for the location together with dates. We will
also advise as to what would best suit their needs and budget and copies of identified aerial photos can then be ordered and supplied. A charge
is made for the time needed to search and prepare the report, usually in the region of 95 GBP plus vat.
With over 25 year's experience of the aerial photography business in the UK, our search time is targeted and efficient. Further details about
Skyscan's Aerial IMage Search service can be found by contacting Skyscan or downloading a leafet
and enquiry form.
